"Health Tips"

Overview

I thought a section giving you some of the health tips (mind, body & spirit) I have received during my journey in healing might be of interest. If you have tips for good health then let me know and I will consider them to put on my web site. My aim is to give specialist tips, as opposed to 'eat green vegatables every day'. Of course I am not saying don't eat green veg, its that otherwise the page could be full of lots of very basic obvious health tips which we all ready know about.

Tip 1 - Affirmations

One of the most useful health tips I have had is to write out affirmations and say them daily, well morning and evening are enough, although you could do them lunchtime as well if you wanted to be really enthusiastic. What do I mean by an affirmation. Well, one that I use is this, which someone gave me, and I continue to adapt it:

I John am divinely guided, protected, supported and loved.

Everything I need comes to me in abundance before I ask for it.

I am always going in the best possible direction,

I instinctively know what I am to do and everything flows easily for me.

I trust my gut instinct and I have abundant energy,

I thank the universe for the many gifts in my life,

including my friends, (you can add names of your friends), family (add family) and work colleagues (you can add colleagues too)

and, not least the confidence to know that I will succeed at everything that I put my mind to.

I love life,

I am always happy and healthy

I am always doing my best.

All is well in my world. (thanks to Louise L Hay for this phrase).

Tip 2. Write down what you are thankful for

More specifically, write down everything in your life at the moment that you can thank the universe for. Ie; your good physical health, or the ability to swim, or run, the more specific you are the better. Or, it might be the way your partner says, "ohhh, look", or they might make the beds, or clean the car on a Saturday morning. Whatever, thank the universe for these special gifts to you. Once you have a list, keep adding to it, and then go through the list everyday and read it out loud to yourself. It will help when you find something does not go to plan, so you can put things into perspective.

Tip 3. Meditation

Meditation can be narrowed down to two types, focused and non focused. In focused meditation you focus on say an image, or the breath, in non focused you let things pass through your mind without concentrating on anything in particular and without reacting. I prefer myself the focused approach, concentrating on my breathing and on in breaths bringing white light into my body one place at a time from head to foot until my whole body is filled with light. The benefits of meditation are of course helping relaxation, which reduces anxiety and helps maintain a state in harmony with your surroundings. Also, slowing heart rate, helping normalise blood pressure, and it helps slow rate at which body ages.

Tip 4. Creating a Vision Board

As in the secret, the book and film about creating abundance in your life, one of the key elements of good health is to be focused. There are several ways of doing this, one of them is to create a board, size from 50cm to 80cm square, made of thick white card or paper, or on a board or white board.

You will need to stick a picture of yourself in the middle of it, then pictures or symbols of things, people, places, experiences that you would have in your ultimate life. Why do I think this is useful? Well, everything we do is made easier by focus on fewer things. The great achievers funnilly enough are the people who get least distracted, and are able to concentrate on one thing. Our brains are capable on average of thinking of 7 plus or minus two at any one time, so it is no surprise that the fewer things that you have intruding on your thoughts the more likely you will be achieving the success you desire.

Tip 5. Positive Thinking

What do I mean by positive thinking? If we use words like, 'can' instead of can't, or will instead of won't, the we will be more positive. After all, how can someone hope to reach their goal if they say, "I can't do that", compared to "I can do that". Its quite simple, if we think that we can do things rather than can't then we are likely to experience more success and therefore more happiness.

Tip 6. Suspend your dis-belief!

One of the things I have found that is really useful if you want to achieve more, is to say to yourself, I suspend my dis-belief in doing something. Whatever it is that you want to do, if you say it to yourself, you will feel more relaxed about doing it. For example, if I want to hand out leaflets to people in the high street, I say to myself, "I suspend my dis-belief that people will take leaflets from me in the high street". I keep saying that while I give people my leaflets. Or, if I want to do a seminar and have an issue around thinking people will not wish to come to my seminar when I am booking rooms, sending out press releases, and getting leaflets printed, I say to myself, "I suspend my dis-belief that people will apply to come to my seminars".

Tip 7. Maintaining Good Mental Health

Of course the primary cause of good health is good emotional health. Whether you are a tennis player or a football star, maintaining mental stability is probably 99% of the game. This means removing negative emotions, which is where EFT comes in. Also, maintaining a relaxed and positive mental state can be done by meditation on an ongoing basis.

Tip 8. Every Word Has A Vibration.

Every word, every thought has a vibration. I was on a train to London and in the next section a group of young men were talking about football. From their conversation I thought they must be footballers. Now, they were all swearing constantly, using all the 'f' ''c' and 's' words you can imagine. I was thinking, do they realise the vibration of these words on their mental state, do they know that each negative word can reduce their performance ability significantly. Do you know why, well it works like this, every time you say a word that same word is then used by your unconscious mind on yourself. You then end up beating yourself up with the same words you use aloud. In a game of football if your mind is focused on what you did not achieve, ie' 'f' and 's' then as in the 'secret' you will get what you focus on. Ie: 'lack'. So, remember to consciously use 'good' vibrational words. Every every every time you open your mouth, remember to speak using positive words. Someone once said to me that names have a similar vibration. Can you imaging being given a name which you did not like? Or, someone who you know, every time they say your name say it with an edge which you don't like. So, remember to always say someones name with positive intent and energy.

Tip 9. Every picture you imagine has a vibration.

Just like every word, every picture has a vibration. So picture positive things, things that are good, things that help you, and make your life the life you want to have. As above, use a vision board to create the life that you want that you deserve. Put positive pictures in your life today and change your life tomorrow. Whether as in the 'secret' you want to have a nice cottage in the country, or a 'porsche' whatever your desires, put them in picture form. Visualise your future and visualise your dreams. Update your vision board daily, adjusting your vision to your 'now', so that you are focused on what you want from today, rather than what you wanted yesterday, last week, or last year, so keep it bang up to date.

Tip 10. Doing 1 thing a day that you have put off doing.

If you are struggling to cope with planning and organising your life, get to grips with whats going on by just doing 1 thing a day that you want to do that is stopping you. By doing the first you will break the cycle of negative behaviour and whatever is blocking you from moving forwards. Yes, small steps are not only steps they enable you to create a new belief system based on being able to do things rather than things not being possible.

Tip 11. If you have a house full of clutter, your life is cluttered.

Clear out things that you have not used in a long time. If you have things in a loft, clear that out, if your loft is clear then it is more likely that your head will be too. Periodically go through things to see what can be thrown out, gradually your life will become less cluttered and you will be able to think straighter and be more focused. Which in turn means less stress, also you will find you are able to concentrate and get more done in life.

Tip 12. Giving yourself time for you.

Each day spend at least 5 minutes by yourself without interruption, without the tv, radio or noise. Just sitting and being. Allow yourself to connect with who you are. This will allow your unconscious mind to catch up with you and for you to hear what it has been trying to tell you.
